The Florida Swing… Sun, Fun & Great Golf
With temperatures warm enough to play year round and sunny skies for months at a time, Florida offers what most other destinations can’t, the opportunity to experience great golf 12 months out of the year.
There are over 850 golf courses in Florida, but only a select few that truly offer championship golf, first class accommodations and service and dining options that meet the highest of standards. PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Trump National Doral Resort in Miami and Innisbrook Golf Resort in Tampa are the crème de la crème of Florida golf.”

TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course
The world renowned Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is the first course of its kind. Built with the intention of being home to THE PLAYERS, it was created for spectators. It was designed as the first stadium-style golf course, offering fans clear and stunning views. The challenging layout is routed so that no two consecutive holes ever play in the same direction.
Traditional Scottish links-style bunkers, sandy waste areas, and water hazards that come into play on every hole make the Stadium Course exciting and interesting to play. There are also hundreds of oaks, pines, and palms throughout the course. One of the most widely known, and feared, holes in golf is No. 17, the island green par three. Clearly one of your "bucket list" courses. -
TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley Course
Sharing a home with the renowned Stadium Course can be intimidating, but Pete Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass is definitely able to hold its own. The golf course features large greens and an abundance of water that sprawl across rolling hills and valleys.
During a renovation in 2006, more than 300 trees were added to the golf course and several bunkers were reconstructed to make them more challenging. Although not as famous as his older brother, the Valley Course is a fun, fair and challenging addition to your Sawgrass visit. -
The King & The Bear Course
The only collaboration between golf’s greatest legends, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, King & Bear is set among pristine lakes, beautiful loblolly pines, and stately oak trees.
This course offers a mixture of two different design styles. The front nine is an open, links-style layout that gives a nod to the heritage of the historic city of St. Augustine, Florida. The back nine is more traditional Florida golf fringed with loblolly pines, 200-year-old oak trees, indigenous coquina rock, and numerous water features.
The layout puts a premium on driving, but golfers will enjoy Nicklaus’ inviting fairways and Palmer’s true and fast greens. -
The Slammer & The Squire Course
Tee off from under the tower of the World Golf Hall of Fame. This course was designed by architect Bobby Weed along with Hall of Fame Members, Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen.
These men shared a desire to build a course that rewards good shot making while preserving the area’s natural beauty. What developed is a well groomed course that showcases the unspoiled wooded areas, wetlands and natural beauty. The layout is open with several contoured greens. Multiple hazards come into play, however, the views of the World Golf Hall of Fame will overshadow any challenges you may face on the course.
The course was the host site of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a Senior PGA TOUR event and has hosted an array of other events, such as the LPGA Senior Tour's Handa Cup from 2006 to 2009.

PALMER COURSE
18 Holes, 72 par, 7079 yards
Named after its designer, Arnold Palmer, this course is one of the more forgiving at PGA National Resort from tee to fairway. The open fairways and large Champion Bermuda greens are quite accommodating and invite players to take a chance if they dare. There is a considerable amount of undulation through the fairway, presenting the opportunity for uneven lies and creative shot-making.
CHAMPIONS COURSE
18 holes, 72 par, 7045 yards
Originally designed by Tom and George Fazio for major tournament play, The Champion course was redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 2014 and hosts the Honda Classic each spring on the PGA TOUR. Although The Champion has generous landing areas and spacious greens, golfers are presented with course management challenges throughout the round. A must-play on any avid golfer's list.
THE SQUIRE COURSE
18 holes, 72 par, 6447 yards
Named after the immortal Gene Sarazen, "the thinking man's course" is the ultimate test of accuracy and precision. Designed by Tom and George Fazio, The Squire is the shortest and most exacting of the courses at PGA National.
Accuracy with fairway woods and long irons is tested on many tees, and the new smaller Emerald Bermuda greens demand precise approach shots. The Squire is surrounded by natural areas teeming with vegetation and wildlife, with the 5th hole running along part of a wilderness preserve.
THE FAZIO
18 holes, 72 par, 7050 yards
The Fazio is a reinvention of The Haig, PGA National’s original 18-hole course that opened in 1980. The Haig was designed by George and Tom Fazio in tribute to five-time PGA champion Walter Hagen, and its renovation is being led by third-generation designer Tom Fazio II, who emphasized modernizing the course layout.
While the original par-72 routing remains intact, the renovation improves the classic golf architecture with many modern features, including larger greens, better grasses on tees and fairways and player friendly tees.
THE ESTATES
18 holes, 72 par, 6694 yards
Designed by Karl Litten, The Estates course presents an enjoyable mix of challenging and friendly holes. Where golfers are tested is in the formidable placement of fairway bunkers and water hazards. Generous fairways will often make stray tee shots more manageable, and the large, inviting greens help keep the course fun for the high handicapper.

The Courses at Innisbrook
THE COPPERHEAD COURSE
18 holes, 71 par, 7209 yards
A favorite among PGA TOUR professionals, the Copperhead Course is the most recognizable of Innisbrook’s four courses. Copperhead plays host to the PGA TOUR’s annual visit to the resort for the Valspar Championship.
Striking in beauty and challenge, the surrounding lakes and ponds are home to abundant wildlife, including fox squirrels, bald eagles, alligators, blue herons, and many other types of waterfowl. With rolling hills unusual for Florida, Copperhead provides the opportunity to enjoy golf the way nature intended.
THE NORTH COURSE
18 holes, 70 par, 6325 yards
The North Course at Innisbrook is similar in terrain to the Copperhead Course. At about 6,000 yards, it remains one of the most challenging courses. Known for its daunting par 3s, North features tight fairways, an abundance of trees and well-bunkered greens.
Eleven holes at North present water hazards and recent course enhancements include additional yardage to selected par 4s and 5s, along with strategically placed bunkers and waste bunkers.
THE SOUTH COURSE
18 holes, 71 par, 6,620 yards
At just over 6,600 yards, the South Course is reminiscent of links-style course, both in terms of rolling terrain and ample waste bunkers. A total of 10 water hazards, undulating terrain, and the Gulf of Mexico winds all combine to make South another great Innisbrook challange.
THE ISLAND COURSE
18 holes, 72 par, 7,194 yards
With its’ tight fairways, intimidating water hazards, abundant bunkers, and extraordinary elevation changes, the newly renovated and lengthened Island Course is considered by many to be as equally demanding as Copperhead.
The extraordinarily picturesque Island has played host to numerous U.S. Open qualifiers and NCAA Championships and has also been ranked among the country’s top 50 resort courses by Golf Digest.
The Island’s first six holes are bordered by beautiful Lake Innisbrook and lateral water hazards, the middle six holes feature rolling hills dominated by cypress and pine trees and the final six holes are designed to reward bold play but penalize errant golf shots.

BLUE MONSTER
18 holes, 72 par, 7,590 yards
Already renowned the world over and rich with history, The Blue Monster is tougher, significantly longer and more dramatic than ever. Restored to its past grandeur in 2014 by golf course architect, Gil Hanse, the course now measures up to today’s tour player standards.
The 7,590 yard course features a series of strategically placed deep bunkers, long flowing fairways, interesting undulating greens, deep Bermuda rough and a challenging assortment of water hazards, all of which combine for a course that requires both length and finesse to score well.
GOLDEN PALM
18 holes, 71 par, 7,012 yards
The Golden Palm, appropriately named after the predominate tree found throughout the golf course, offers another unique Florida resort golf experience.
It was resurrected by Gil Hanse's team with design elements similar to the iconic Blue Monster. The course offers a variety of wide open vistas, tight tree lined fairways and heavily contoured greens.
The Golden Palm is also home to a very unique bunker style with tight-cut, clean-edges from the fairway and heavy rough around the back side of each bunker that presents an element of difficulty that you might find in the Australian countryside. The design, quality and attention to detail creates a difficult golf course for all skill levels and makes The Golden Palm a true championship course capable of hosting the best players in the world.
RED TIGER
18 holes, 72 par, 6,395 yards
The spectacular Red Tiger golf course, given its name by the late, great Jackie Gleason, just may have undergone the most dramatic change of any of the course renovations at Doral.
Due to the talents of the Gil Hanse design team, the Red Tiger is an exciting challenge for the average golfer but also a surprising test for the more expert player. Set on just 120 acres, its primary design resembles a New England style course but the different varieties of palm trees throughout gives it its distinctive South Florida personality.
SILVER FOX
18 holes, 71 par, 7,006 yards
The sensational Silver Fox course is one of the most demanding tests of golf you can find. Water comes into play on 17 of 18 holes, and it’s marble-white sand bunkers dictate that only well-struck drives and approaches are rewarded.
Although there are only 50 bunkers on the entire course, they are strategically placed requiring a straight drive from the tee and exacting approaches to the greens. Draped in a wall-to-wall carpet of Celebration Bermuda grass, the course is both beautiful to look and stimulating to play.
